XPLANE’s Bill Keaggy to appear on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ on July 1

Designer, photographer and collector will talk about his book “Milk Eggs Vodka: Grocery Lists Lost and Found”

He’s held just about every position there is at information design company XPLANE, A Dachis Group Company, but Bill Keaggy’s latest role is that of late night television guest. On July 1, Keaggy will appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live where he’ll talk about his book “Milk Eggs Vodka: Grocery Lists Lost and Found”, a bizarrely entertaining collection of found grocery lists.

The book, published in 2007, is a collection of more than 300 lost and found grocery lists recovered from shopping carts and parking lots around the world. In it, Keaggy has categorized the lists and added his insightful and comedic commentary to each, making us all think twice about our trips to the store.

“True, lists are trash,” said Keaggy, who started collecting discarded grocery lists more than a decade ago. “But they also reveal clues about who we really are. They’re filled with humor and humanity. Plus, it’s fun to ridicule the weird things people buy and the fact so many people can’t spell bananas.”

“Milk Eggs Vodka” includes lists made by partiers, the unhealthy, the elderly, doodlers, health nuts, the poor spellers and obsessive apostrophe users. The book also features the world’s oldest grocery list, a list of the most commonly misspelled staples, recipes based on found lists and a shoplifting list. On Jimmy Kimmel Live, Keaggy will follow actress Dakota Fanning and precede musical guests Korn. The show airs on ABC. Check local listings for show times.
