Transparent PNG Generator

“What is this? It’s a simple web application where you can easily create transparent PNG images. These can be used to create cool effects in a variety of ways. This application produces only rectangular images, so I suspect it will be used mostly for web page background images, but use it for whatever you like.”

A whole new internet?

“Now that the money is back, the focus will necessarily shift even though, as Janice notes, we’ll be a little wiser about it this time around. There will be less innovation and activity from individuals because they’ll be snapped up by companies to work on their projects for their customers. The information flowing out of companies, even those that are pretty open, will be limited because of competitive and legal concerns”

How to Create a Frames Layout with CSS

“By far the most sought after use of CSS is to emulate the dated html ‘frame’ layout, whereby the header, navigation and footer stay on screen at all times and the content area will scroll. Since the adoption of the fixed position style by the latest browsers this is quite an easy task for CSS. Unfortunately, Internet Explorer hasn’t introduced this style into it’s repertoire (perhaps IE7 will correct this deficiency when it’s released later this year). Fortunately, there are ways around this and it’s possible to make Internet Explorer versions IE5.01, 5.5 and 6 fall into line with the rest.”

If you ask the old uncle Google where you can find proper web design-instruments he shows an infinite list, whereby ‘his’ links aren’t actually that useful. At the same time really helpful pages aren’t shown at all…”
