“Anamorphosis (from the Greek meaning ‘formed again’) is the process of distorting the perspective of an image so dramatically that its correct dimensions can be recaptured only when you change your point of view just as dramatically. In catoptric anamorphosis, a curved mirror is used to view the image. Usually anamorphic mirrors are conical or cylindrical. When the mirror is placed on the anamorphic drawing, a recognizable scene appears as a reflection.”
