Building a Web Vocabulary

“There’s no point in accumulating data if you don’t know how to organize it. A Web vocabulary can help you put it all together. By building a ‘Web vocabulary’ — also known as a taxonomy or a classification system — companies are finding they can organize information better, attract and retain more visitors to their Web sites, and, most important, stay ahead of the competition. A Web vocabulary is based on metadata — the data that describes other data.”
