Recognizing the need to attract and keep top talent, American Express created the Project Resource Team option. XPLANE clarified the benefits of this new flexible work initiative, and developed visual communications tools to drive understanding of and participation in the innovative program.
Challenge | The American Express HR group introduced Project Resource Teams — a flexible work arrangement offering employees greater control over their work/life balance options. The company’s objective was to improve retention and training through the initiative and called on XPLANE to communicate the benefits in visual form.
Action | XPLANE conducted visualization sessions with key stakeholders to understand and detail the way Project Resource Teams operate. With the help of visual descriptions designed by XPLANE, American Express encouraged high-performance employees to consider this option designed by XPLANE included:
- Documentation of key steps for enrollment in the Project Resource Team program
- Information graphics for use in PowerPoint communications and posters
- An XPLANATiON process map to help market the program internally
Results | XPLANE completed the project under budget, allowing American Express to use the excess resources for development of a high-level overview called Embrace. This HR initiative creates workplace flexibility for employees. American Express observed increased excitement and conversation about Project Resource Teams and the Embrace initiative based on the images and presentations developed.
