Senior Designer, interactive media — Amsterdam

XPLANE Amsterdam is on the lookout for a full-time experienced interactive media designer to take on complex information design challenges with technical savvy, artistic sensibility and a good sense of humor.

Your interactive design capabilities are rivaled only by your intellectual curiosity and passion for visualizing ideas. You can think and give presentations before a critical audience. You have a mastery of the English language (you’ll need to communicate clearly in complex business environments). You will travel to many locations and are eager to work with some of the smartest, most talented people in the business.

Sound interesting? Here’s a quick checklist for you:

  • You’ve got a degree and have worked in a studio or interactive agency for 7+ years.
  • You’ve mastered the Adobe Master Suite (CS5) and MS Office. You’re also familiar with Garageband, Soundbooth, Final Cut Pro, as well as basic 3D design, character animation, and hand-illustration. Knowledge of HTML, CSS, AS3, and Javascript are all plusses.
  • You are fluent in interface design and have a strong knowledge of information and site architecture. You know how to solve problems using iterative design, prototyping, and testing. And you have a portfolio to prove this—as well as your mastery of graphic design.
  • You’re a geek at heart. You’re on top of emerging technologies and presentation tools (which you evangelize when appropriate).
  • You are a leader and communicator. You have the ability to oversee the output of illustrators, programmers and animators.

  • You are flexible and collaborative. You can assume the design role on any project or jump in to help the team succeed.
  • You are a perfectionist. You have a hands-on approach to ensuring XPLANE high quality and consistency in all deliverables.
  • You live in or around Amsterdam and have all the necessary documentation to work legally in the Netherlands.
