When Think Tanks Attack

“Why are all these think tanks so down on Open Source? Well, the Small Business Survival Committee is concerned that using open source will expose small business to the risk of lawsuits. Citizens Against Government Waste is concerned that the Government might waste money on Open Source. Defenders of Property Rights is concerned that Open Source might be a threat to intellectual property rights. However, I was able to detect a common theme to all their criticism. They all seem to be funded by Microsoft.”

Study says U.S. trails in family time off

“U.S. workers have fewer legal rights to time off for family matters than workers in most other countries, and rank near the bottom in pregnancy and sick leave, a Harvard School of Public Health study found. The report, released Wednesday in Washington, D.C., was based on research on 168 countries.”

Looking over the past several months worth of posts, this weblog by Michael Cage seems to be full of useful and inspirational content. “Entrepreneurs believe they are extraordinarily capable, able to fix the biggest disaster through sheer force of will, and are able to out-work, out-think, and out-hustle anyone and everyone else in or around their business. This is a strength and a weakness. In many cases, they are right. But it is serious flaw to let those feelings dictate their decisions.”
